Hike guide · Issaquah, WA
Poo Poo Point
A steep climb on Tiger Mountain with one of the best Mount Rainier views close to home, and paragliders launching right off the top. The trailhead sits on Issaquah-Hobart Road, about 20 minutes from Maple Valley.
A challenge with a reward. The view is amazing. It's difficult, but so worth it. Not a good one for kids or new hikers. I took the Chirico Trail, the steep one that starts off Issaquah-Hobart Road. Treat yourself to a burger in North Bend on your way home!

How hard is the Poo Poo Point hike?
It's a hard hike. The Chirico Trail gains about 1,760 feet in under 2 miles, with steep stone steps much of the way. Experienced hikers will be fine. Kids and beginners should start somewhere gentler.
Is there more than one trail to Poo Poo Point?
Yes. The Chirico Trail starts from Issaquah-Hobart Road and is the shorter, steeper option. The High School Trail starts in Issaquah and is a longer route to the same viewpoint. Many hikers go up one and down the other.
What is the view like from Poo Poo Point?
On a clear day you can see Mount Rainier from the south launch viewpoint, plus Lake Sammamish and the valley below. Paragliders launch from the top, so you'll often see them take off.
Do you need a parking pass for Poo Poo Point?
No pass is required at the Chirico trailhead parking lot on Issaquah-Hobart Road. The lot is shared with the paraglider landing field and can fill on sunny weekends.
